Privacy Policy
A1 Strategic is a small marketing business in Ottawa, Illinois, run by Lucas Hennenfent. This page explains, in plain words, what information we collect on a1strategic.com, why, and what you can do about it.
The short version
- We collect what you type into our forms, plus basic website usage data.
- We use it to build and send your AI Report Card and to follow up with you.
- We never sell your information.
- We share it only with the services that help us run the site and do the work.
- You can ask us to stop contacting you, or to delete your information, any time.
What we collect
When you ask for an AI Report Card:
- Your business name and town.
- Your email address.
- Your first name, if you give it.
- Whether you checked the box saying it is OK to text or call you about your report.
- Your phone number, if you choose to give it. It is optional.
- Your website or type of business, if you give them to us.
Automatically, when you use the site:
- Your browser type and the page that sent you to us.
- A scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address. We use it to stop spam and limit repeat requests. We do not store your plain IP address with your request.
- Pages you visit, buttons you click, and how you move around the site. Some visits may be recorded as a replay of the page so we can fix problems. Anything typed into form fields is hidden in those replays.
Public information about your business. To build your report, we look up public details like your Google listing, your website, and how many locations you have.
How we use it
- To build your AI Report Card. We ask AI tools (ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, and Meta AI) the kind of questions a local customer would ask, like "who is the best plumber in Ottawa, IL?" The questions are about your type of business and your town. We do not send your email address or phone number to these AI tools.
- To email you your report. It comes from [email protected].
- To follow up. We may email you about your report, helpful tips, or our services. If you checked the box, Lucas may also text or call you about your report.
- To run and improve the site. This includes stopping spam and bots, and seeing which pages help people.
- To measure our ads. If you came from one of our ads, we may let the ad platform know someone asked for a report, so we know the ad worked.
Who we share it with
We never sell or rent your information. We share it only with companies that help us do the work, and only what they need:
- Cloudflare hosts our website, stores form requests, and runs the spam check (Turnstile).
- Google (Google Workspace) sends and stores our email. Google Fonts loads the fonts on our pages.
- OpenAI, Google, Perplexity, Anthropic, and Meta answer the AI questions we ask about your type of business and town.
- PostHog gives us website analytics and page replays.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) measures our ads through the Meta Pixel.
- Calendly handles booking if you schedule a call with us.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our business or other people from fraud or harm.
Cookies and similar tools
Our site uses cookies and similar tools from PostHog (analytics), Meta (ad measurement), and Cloudflare (security). You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
How long we keep it
We keep your request and report as long as they are useful to you and to us, usually no longer than 2 years after we last hear from you. Then we delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
Your choices
- Stop emails. Reply "unsubscribe" or "stop" to any email from us, or email [email protected].
- Stop texts or calls. Reply STOP to a text, or just tell Lucas.
- See, fix, or delete your information. Email [email protected] and we will take care of it, usually within 30 days.
If you live in California or another state with privacy laws
Some states give you extra rights. These include the right to know what we have about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of having it sold or shared for targeted ads. We do not sell your information. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will not treat you differently for asking. We may need to confirm it is really you first.
Kids
This site is for business owners. It is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Keeping it safe
We use trusted providers and limit who can see your information. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable steps to protect it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date at the top.
